Facilities Operating Technician – WWTP (Industrial)

Location: Andover, MA

Pay: $ 48.58/hr

Hours: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Temp to Perm

Type: Full-Time, Onsite

You know your way around pumps, valves, boilers, and baskets—and you don’t mind getting your hands a little dirty to keep systems running right.

We’re looking for a Facilities Operating Technician with serious skills in wastewater treatment and general industrial facilities maintenance. You’ll be the go-to person for daily operations, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting across our WWTP systems—making sure everything flows like it’s supposed to.

This is a first-shift role with solid weekday hours, great pay, and a team that appreciates someone who can take charge and get things done.

What You’ll Actually Do:

• Do your daily rounds and keep an eye on gauges, readings, and all the stuff that keeps our systems compliant

• Tweak, test, clean, calibrate, and repeat—because this system isn’t running without you

• Keep the chemical feed system dialed in and inline strainers clean

• Monitor supplies, train backup operators, and work with management to make things better

• Take pride in a clean plant—yes, housekeeping matters

• Step in to help with general repairs around the facility when needed

You'll Be the Hero If You Can:

• Run a treatment plant in your sleep (not literally, but you get it)

• Understand water treatment like the back of your hand

• Tackle repairs like a pro, from pumps to heat exchangers

• Spot issues before they become problems

• Work independently, but still play nice with others

What You Need to Bring:

• Massachusetts Grade 1 Industrial Wastewater License (full status) – no exceptions

• Solid experience working in WWTP operations

• Handy with tools and confident around mechanical systems

• Comfortable using computers to log info and check on systems

• A customer-service mindset and strong communication skills

• A habit of putting safety first, always

Bonus Points For:

• Experience training others or mentoring a team

• Project management or upgrade experience

• The ability to stay cool when something suddenly starts rattling

Pay Details: $45.00 per hour
