MIO Partners Inc. is seeking MIO Senior Quantitative Research Analyst in NY, NY. Work with a Portfolio Manager and/or Investment Research Manager in setting the conceptual and technical approaches, finding and selecting raw data inputs, producing the research outputs, for example demand/supply dynamics and fundamental analysis, and documenting the research methodology. Take ownership of the existing body of research, thoroughly understand the content, extract expert insights, make substantial content improvements and manage and improve the processes for keeping our research output updated (e.g., automating and systematizing the production of ongoing research). Integrate research so that insights from one research can be used to improve other research, or insights can be combined to produce new insights. Assist in systematizing MIO’s quantitative research, including standardizing research production and developing/managing a portion of MIO’s quantitative research database (including metadata maintenance and streamlining), at times working closely with the Investment IT team. Support Portfolio Managers and/or Investment Research Managers by proposing new research or trading ideas and by implementing and monitoring trades.Qualified applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Financial Mathematics, or related quantitative field, or foreign degree equivalent. Qualified applicants for this position must have a minimum (1) year of experience applying data science and machine learning methods to answer fundamental questions. Experience must include: Using statistical and data analysis; Understanding of regression analysis, stochastic processes and monte carlo simulation; proficiency with any programming language (e.g., Python, C++); proficiency with using Excel; proficiency with using MatLab, R, or Tableau.
