Massachusetts State Job Bank Director of Facilities and Maintenance in West Boylston, Massachusetts
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates all areas relating to school facilities and maintenance maintaining a condition of operation that supports school and community use of District facilities and grounds. Coordinate and assist with snow removal and all related activities. Coordinate moving of equipment, supplies, furniture, and other items as needed. Performs custodial and/or maintenance work following the needs of the district. Supervise and evaluate all custodians, including part-time and seasonal employees. Provides leadership and oversight to the custodial staff within the entire District while encouraging teamwork; assigning equitable and appropriate work responsibilities; and ensuring that adequate supplies, materials and training needed to accomplish assigned responsibilities. Complies with all state and federal laws, regulations and standards as they relate to the management of District buildings and grounds. Schedules, coordinates, and oversees the work of subcontractors within the district. Monitors and maintains the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure energy-efficient operation and comfort control in all occupied spaces. Monitors and maintains the fire alarm systems and fire extinguishers. Schedules annual required inspections. Responds to emergencies, alarms, and outages in a timely manner. Develops and maintains an ongoing log of all maintenance and repair work for buildings, grounds and equipment. Responsible for ordering all maintenance and custodial supplies, materials and equipment in accordance with District policies and procedures. Maintains and inventory of major equipment, tools, and supplies related to custodial and maintenance functions, including purchasing needs Manages integrated pest management program for all facilities. Assists Business Administrator in development of documents and plans relating to custodial, facilities and maintenance annual operating budget. Assists Superintendent in development of documents and plans relating to capital projects. Ensures all building security and safety systems are intact, operational, and followed. Develop, implement and manage a preventative maintenance program for all facilities, mechanical and structural components of each building within the District. Routinely evaluates the condition of buildings, grounds and equipment and assists in making recommendations to the School Business Administrator on matters of building repair, renovation, upgrades, other major buildings and grounds projects. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local inspection requirements. Ensures compliance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 30B when procuring goods and/or services for the District. Completes all required state and federal reports related to school facilities. Performs other such duties as deemed necessary by the Superintendent of Schools or Business Administrator Successful screening by means of Criminal Offenders Record Investigation (CORI) and Statewide Applicant Fingerprint Identification (SAFIS) review.
